The Vital Role of Wastewater Testing Labs

Groundwater is the water absorbed by the Earth’s surface and gets trapped between the soil particles and fractured rocks beneath the Earth’s surface. People use groundwater for drinking, agricultural production, and crop irrigation purposes. This water often becomes polluted with soluble contaminations and pathogens, causing threats to humans and the environment.

Comprehensive Wastewater Testing Services

Wastewater is an aggregate of residential and commercial wastes carrying organic, inorganic, synthetic organic, oils, sediments, micro-organisms, and many other tasteless, odorless, and colorless pollutants.

At the ChemServe, we offer wastewater testing services for the following parameters:

  • Volatile solvents such as methylene chloride, trichloroethylene, benzene, toluene.
  • Chlorinated pesticides such as DDT, Dieldrin, and chlordane.
  • Semi-volatile compounds such as phenols, phthalates, and other organic compounds. These include polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), volatile petroleum hydrocarbons (MAVPH method), extractable petroleum hydrocarbons (MAEPH method), and polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs).
  • Follow the links for more information about EPA methods 625 for semi-volatile compounds and 608 for pesticide/PCBs.
  • Click here for information on NPDES testing at Chemserve

Most of these compounds are either highly toxic, persistent in the environment, or bioaccumulated in animals and humans.

Established on a Foundation of Trust

In the early 1970s, ChemServe Environmental Analysts was founded as a local laboratory specializing in drinking water analysis, coinciding with the establishment of the EPA. In 1986, the laboratory shifted its focus towards catering to commercial, industrial, and municipal clients. The laboratory experienced significant growth throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s, leading to its transformation into a comprehensive environmental testing company that provides a wide range of testing services.
